Tournament Description

The 2023 MSGM is SOLD OUT! This is the 2023 Meijer State Games of Michigan Pickleball Tournament, hosted by the Grand Rapids Pickleball Club at Belknap Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan. USA Pickleball Sanctioned Tournament.

We will have water and snacks available for players at the tournament site.  There will also be Food Trucks at Belknap for your convenience.

Lodging / Accommodations

Lodging: The Meijer State Games of Michigan welcomes pickleball athletes to enjoy Grand Rapids and stay at one of the local hotels. Athletes receive discounted rates on hotels as part of participating in the tournament.  If you have questions, please contact Julie Shields at jshields@stategamesofmichigan.com.

This is an outdoor event with no indoor backup facility.  It stays light until after 9:00pm and we have updated the lights and are able to play well into the evening.

You are not guarenteed a spot in the 2023 Meijer State Games Pickleball Tournament until you have a partner and are paid.

Cancellation Policy

Refunds will be available if withdrawal is before June 1, 2023.  There will be a $10 service fee on any refunds to cover administration costs and PayPal fees.  No refunds available due to weather cancellation.

Format

Tournament follows USAP rules.  See the USAPA.ORG website.

This is an outdoor event with no indoor backup.

A Round Robin format will be used for all divisions.

It is a Skill Level/Age Group Tournament 3.0 to 5.0.

Brackets are men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles, men's singles, and women's singles.

Age is determined as of December 31, 2023.  

In doubles play (ages 10-70+), partners with different skill levels will play at the higher partner skill level. Youngest partner will determine age bracket within the skill.  We require a minimum of 4 participants or teams per bracket.  The 70+ division may combine skill levels if needed.

Players may enter a maximum of one doubles, one mixed doubles, and one singles play bracket only.

We reserve the right to:

1.  eliminate or combine brackets where necessary and,

2.  to alter the playing format for any reason including weather or  number of registrants.
