How It Works

Players earn points in pro tournaments for placement and wins. Results are updated at the conclusion of each tournament.

Titles are ranked for the following Pro events – Men and Women:

  • Singles
  • Doubles
  • Mixed Doubles
  • Senior Singles
  • Senior Doubles
  • Senior Mixed Doubles

Considerations:

  • Player points accumulate over a rolling 52-week window, with points awarded outside of that window expiring and being replaced by points awarded within that window.
  • A player’s Top 15 results are represented in the rankings.
  • In the case where a draw fails to complete (e.g.: rainout, facilities issue, etc.) and the Gold and Bronze matches were not completed, no Place points (Gold, Silver, Bronze, 4th) will be awarded for the tournament and only Non-place (Main Draw and Back Draw) Win points will be awarded. The rankings point table display for tournaments draws where this happens will have an "Incomplete" notice in red in the table's title (e.g.: Pro Senior Women Mixed Incomplete).
  • Rankings points will only be awarded to players in the Main Draw and corresponding Back Draw based on their place (Gold, Silver, Bronze, 4th) or the number of Non-Place Wins (Main Draw or Back Draw). No rankings points will be award to players participating in a Qualifying Draw feeding into the Main Draw or a subsequent draw of players who did not qualify for the Main Draw.

Points are awarded based on the following model:

Golden Tickets

Starting in 2022, the Top 20 players in each competition category on Sept 1st will be awarded automatic qualification (“Golden Ticket”) to the USA Pickleball National Championships of that year if qualifying criteria is met.

Qualifying Criteria:

  • The player must be in the Top 20 of one of the disciplines (Singles, Doubles, Mixed Doubles) on September 1st preceding that year’s National Championships.
  • The player must have played in at least 2 National Championships Series tournaments supporting that year’s National Championships.
  • A Top 20 player who is awarded a Ranking’s Golden Ticket in one discipline, may choose to participate in the other two competitions at the National Championships. Example: A Golden Ticket winner in Singles may choose to play Doubles and Mixed Doubles as well.
  • A Top 20 player who is awarded a Ranking’s Golden Ticket may choose a partner for Doubles or Mixed who does not have a Golden Ticket with the requirement that the partner must have played in at least 2 National Championships Series tournaments supporting that year’s National Championships.
  • If a Top 20 player has earned a Golden Ticket by some other means, their Ranking’s Golden Ticket will not be reassigned to another player below the Top 20.
